AE Community Services Students Attend CRSA Event

On March 2024, our Bachelor of Community Services student volunteers, together with our lecturer and a CRSA staff member — Ms. Kash Wall, attended Australia’s first gathering to celebrate and grow community-led refugee welcome organised by the Community Refugee Sponsorship Australia (CRSA). Our students did 4 hours of induction training learning about refugee sponsorship and resettlement, and on the day of the event, they assisted with greeting guests, catering, stage set-up, event facilitation and general support.

The students also had the opportunity to attend a speech delivered by the Hon Andrew Giles MP, Minister for Immigration, Citizenship and Multicultural Affairs, and take a picture with him.

We would like to acknowledge our student volunteers who attended this professional development opportunity:

– Constance Obeng Darko
– Grace Wanjiku Kamau
– Liliosa Manyere
– Navjeet Kaur
– Victor Kiptoo
– Wajeeha Ali
– Erica Biffa

Well done and see you again on future events with the community!
