Ready, Set, Network! Unlock Your Career Potential

In August, students across our Perth, Sydney, and Melbourne campuses came together for Ready, Set, Network! Why We Hosted This Event

The goal of Ready, Set, Network! was clear: to support student wellbeing while equipping students with the skills and confidence needed for their career journey. Specifically, the event aimed to:

  • Support student wellbeing and reduce anxiety around career development

  • Build confidence in professional conversations and self-presentation

  • Provide tools for resume building, LinkedIn optimisation, and networking

  • Connect students with peers, alumni, industry professionals, and AE staff

  • Reinforce AE and SRC’s commitment to holistic student success and support

Event Highlights

The program brought together staff, alumni, and industry partners to deliver interactive and practical sessions, including:

  • How to Network Without Feeling Awkward – Led by Student Wellbeing Officers, this session helped students build confidence and social skills.

  • Improving Your Resume and Cover Letter – Academic and placement staff, alongside alumni, provided practical advice on crafting strong applications.

  • LinkedIn Profile Masterclass – Alumni and external experts shared strategies for making profiles stand out.

  • Industry Networking Panel – Placement partners, academic staff, and alumni offered real-world insights and career advice.

  • Speed Networking Activity – Guided by SRC members and AE staff, students practised networking in a fun, supportive environment.

Looking Ahead

Ready, Set, Network! was more than just an event — it was a commitment to student success, equipping attendees with resources and confidence to take the next step in their careers.

For those who couldn’t attend, slides and resources are available to ensure every student can access the insights shared.

The Student Experience Team at AE is proud to continue creating opportunities like these and looks forward to welcoming students to future events where they can keep learning, connecting, and growing!
